What’s the kindest thing someone has ever done for you?
It’s hard to rank acts of kindness when one has an attitude of gratitude. Each day there’s an opportunity to be thankful.
I’ll just talk about one that stands out in particular.
Last November 1st, I had plans for that night that didn’t come to fruition. One of my best friends from high school called to ask what I was doing then. At that point, I had nothing. But we both knew that Game 7 between the Dodgers and Blue Jays was happening, so he invited me to come watch it at his place.
We both have our favorite baseball teams. Our hangouts since high school have consisted of playing video games and watching baseball. At that time we were each going through changes in our personal living situations. Game 7 just felt like a good occasion to hang out, watch baseball, and get away for a bit.
After I left his place that night, I thought, “Wow! What a crazy game!” We were both ecstatic because we were rooting for the Dodgers, and they were two outs away from losing the series. I really got to hear what he was going through and to listen to him. I was so grateful to be invited into another person’s home.
It was as if we were in high school again.
