The Daily Prompt – No. 334

Share a hobby you’ve picked up recently — what got you into it?

I’ve recently gotten back into running. I was looking for a way to shed extra pounds from my frame. I was running with a club that meets monthly but lately I’ve added extra runs into my fitness routine.

I got into it more when someone I met at the club told me about Strava. I had seen the app before but I wasn’t able to use it because I had an old phone that was filled to the brim.

Anyway, I downloaded it. When I saw that I could track my runs and incorporate the outputs and exercise into my other fitness apps, I became more motivated to run. It gave me numbers to hit and strive for. I wanted to see how much I could do and how many calories I was burning. Let me tell you, it was a revelation.

Now, I’m not necessarily a running enthusiast, but I’m picking up the habit again from 6 years ago. Back then everything was closed, including the gyms. I was at my lowest weight ever and quite possibly my fittest since I discovered the Insanity home workout program.

    Can I beat 2020 me?

  • Quote of the Week

“You have to believe that you can do it. My dad taught me at an early age that whatever you think you can do is exactly what you will do. And whatever you think you cannot do is exactly what you will not do. If a problem presents itself to you and you believe that you will not be able to solve it, then you won’t solve it. However, if you set your mind on Christ and believe that you can accomplish anything, then you will.”

Remember, motivation is good but discipline will help you finish what you started.

This is a recurring theme in my life.

    I win. That’s what I do.

Can’t make it any more plain than that.

    The GOAT of Pro Basketball

Winning brings attention. A continued course of winning will bring an expectation of more winning. That is what you call “success”.

Michael Jordan continually did that on the court through his 15-year NBA career, in college at UNC, in the Olympics, and off the court with Nike and Air Jordan.

Winning breeds winning. Start winning today.

Some for motivation for me and I hope you, too. I am not there yet. But this is where I hope to be one day, on the cover of the Forbes’ Billionaire List because I had a dream and discipline.
