“This parable tells you God rewards risk and punishes insecurity. The guy who was afraid of making a mistake was punished, but the people that took a chance were rewarded. So God rewards risk.
The parable is meant to discourage fear of making a mistake and trade it off for trying to do something and seeing what happens. Boy, it got quiet in this Presbyterian church fest. All right, so now I want to go to the King James.
The King James is where it really comes alive for me, where Jesus says, so he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minus, and he says, occupy. He called his ten servants, delivered them to ten pounds, and said to them, occupy till I come. Everybody say, occupy till I come.
This is a parable for the end time Christian who is expecting Jesus to come back at any minute, and he’s saying, I’m going to reward you that are engaged with transactions, and I’m going to increase to you power over territory. And when I come back, I’m going to reward you with jurisdiction that is going to be in my administration over territory on the earth[…]”
