  • The Daily Prompt – No. 325

Which outdated technology do you miss the most, and why?

I miss the Sega Dreamcast. This is back when I was high school and played video games religiously. I was gifted a Dreamcast for Christmas’s. I was so ecstatic and happy. In the midst of the personal turmoil that was occurring in my life, video games were a refuge.

I remember playing NBA2K with Allen Iverson on the cover at home with my sister at my mom’s. I would also travel to my friend’s place and play video games there. So many memories created. It was a personal mini-convention, if you will.

I know you can get emulators nowadays to replicate the Dreamcast but the memories. I’ll always hold on those.

Last night I found out that Ryne Sandberg passed away. It took me a while to realize my connection to him.

He was the cover athlete on the Super Bases Loaded video game of the SNES. That was the first baseball game that ever I owned. I had many good memories while playing that game.

I pray that God comforts his family in this transition period.
