I plan to grow the rest of my hair out. Yesterday I was having my dreads re-twisted by my stylist. We were talking and I told her that I wanted to have a full head of dreads. My plan was to cut my hair and start from scratch.
She replied that I didn’t need to do that. Instead, she suggested that I did not have to do that but I can just let the rest of my hair grow, not have it cut and it can be twistable by the end of the year.
I liked that idea better. Therefore I’ll probably still get my hair lined up by my barber. I’ll have a progress pic for you by the end of the year.
I’ll make this short and sweet: Yes. I believe that God has preordained a path for every single one of us. However, it is up to us as free moral agents to choose. What we choose, whether it’s good or bad, has consequences. That is the sum total of our destiny.
I’m really starting like this guy Magic. I didn’t realize how good and transcendent of a basketball player he was.
I still think that Michael Jordan is the GOAT until someone dethrones him.
This clip is from the 1988 – ’89 season where Magic and the Lakers were the defending champs and MJ was coming off a stellar year by winning his first MVP and DPOY award.
Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.
Maybe building the futon in one of my former apartments. Or assembling furniture from IKEA. I enjoy working with my hands but I need the instructions to give me a guide. It’s almost like building an adult Lego set.
Start working. Start saving. Don’t worry about your peers’ approval just put your hands to something and be productive. Everything else will come. God will take care of you.
When people don’t have an exciting story to tell. They lack enthusiasm in their speech or confidence. Whatever it is, it projects onto me, the listener, and then I tune out.
Let me be clear, I’m not advocating for gossip or anything like that. I enjoy hearing a good story from one’s life. In that story I can glean nuggets of wisdom that I can apply in my own life. We’re all here to learn from each other. If you can’t sell your story, then I become bored.
