  • On Mindfulness

I have an app that contains book summaries for me to read (or listen to). Lately, I’ve been reading a lot about mindfulness through this app. From what I’ve read it involves being ever present in the moment.

Since I’ve been getting a lot of content about mindfulness, I had to do some research on the true purpose of mindfulness.

    Dogs or cats?

Neither. I prefer to have fish in an aquarium. There’s something so serene about watching animals operate in water just living. This hypothetical would be the centerpiece of a peaceful environment.

But if I have to choose, I would go with dogs.

  • 2025 MLB All-Star Game

I did not realize that the MLB All Star Game always had their participating players wear their team uniforms rather than the one-off special uniforms for the game. If it is traditional then it’s ok. However I always like to see special uniforms for majestic exhibitions like these. Read the article for the rest of the uni-related developments for the game.

  • On Meditation

The more you read the Bible; and the more you meditate on it, the more you will be astonished with it. — Charles Spurgeon

Many Christ followers don’t understand what meditation actually means. When we meditate on something we are simply focusing our thoughts. To understand what it means to meditate on God’s Word, let’s read Pastor Rick Warren’s description. He says, “Surprisingly, if you know how to worry, you already know how to meditate on the Word of God. Worry is when you take a negative thought and think on it over and over and over. When you take a passage of Scripture and think on it over and over and over, that’s called meditation.”

The Bible mentions meditation over twenty times and calls us to meditate on God’s Word. This is a beneficial practice to incorporate into our daily time with God as it provides a mental and emotional rest for us as well as spiritual growth.

This topic has been coming up more frequently in my private reading time. This and breathing. (I will reflect on that in another future post.)

Admittedly I’ve fallen off the meditation wagon quite a bit. There are times where I commit to doing 15 minutes of meditation (on God’s Word) everyday. Then I fail to do it. I recommit to 10 minutes. Then I fail. I recommit to 5 minutes. Then I fail.

This time, it will be different. If I can just consistently dedicate my thought life for 5 minutes to God, I will change my life.

“Later is a lie. Your dream isn’t waiting for the perfect moment. It’s waiting for a decision.

So here’s the mindset shift. Don’t wait for motivation. Let movement create momentum.
