Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?
This might be a short entry, but the place that I really enjoyed has been Budapest, Hungary. I’ve gone there for a conference these past 2 springs. It’s been a fresh change of pace from being in New York City.
I recommend that you go and visit, especially in the springtime. It’s beautiful and the Danube River that bisects the Buda and Pest sections of the city is a symbol of the tranquility that Hungary now enjoys after years of turmoil under Soviet oppression.
I don’t have a particular place. I live in New York City, and there are many beautiful, scenic places that exist. For me, my favorite places are normally those where I am at ease and in peace.
It could be somewhere along the West Side Highway where you can see the New Jersey coastline. Or, it could be in Bowling Green where the ferry to Staten Island docks. Or it could be in Macombs Dam Park across the street from Yankee Stadium.
Bottom line, it’s anywhere that I can find serenity. So that goes back to what resonates calm and peace for me.
