2025 Mets Schedule
Mr. Met Kart for the 2025 Schedule The New York Mets (or “Metropolitans” as Steve Somers used to call them) are my favorite baseball team. I have been a fan a long time. Actually, I am a fan of all the New York sports teams. I became a more of a Mets fan because they play in the National League. (I didn’t like teams that played in the American League because I thought that it was unfair to the teams in Canada and their fans.)
The 2024 season has been a pleasant surprise, when one considers how disappointing last season was and the lackluster offseason moves that were made by the front office. Francisco Lindor has been fantastic and Jose Iglesias has been a revelation this year.
Because of the new qualification rules, the Mets have a chance for the postseason. At 50-47 they are ABOVE .500 and in the final wild card spot as of this writing. Hopefully, they continue their winning ways into the postseason (and a World Series title) and carry that momentum into next season when they face the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

Photo of the Week

President Trump after being shot last week in Butler PA/AP Photo/Evan Vucci For this feature that I post every Friday at 12:30, but I post a picture that I have taken on my iPhone from the past week (or two). However, given what happened in the past week, I dedicate this space an iconic photo taken by AP photographer, Evan Vucci. You can read more about his account from last Saturday, here.

Work to Please God, Not People

Rick Warren’s Daily Devotional – Day 199 “Work to Please God, Not People
The Apostle Paul teaches that we are to work as though we are “working for the Lord and not for people.” He’s saying that no job is too small, no job is too menial, and no job is too insignificant when you have the right motive and perspective. We should think, “I’m doing it for God; I’m doing this job as if I’m doing it for the Lord. I used to clean meat lockers in a butcher shop, and I would clean it as unto the Lord.”
Now, how do I know if I’m doing my work for the Lord? Two characteristics will show up in your attitude – Excellence-If I’m doing my work for the Lord, and not just for the boss, then I’ll do it with excellence. That means I will do the best I can because I’m not doing it for anyone’s approval except God’s. Enthusiasm-And, I do my work with enthusiasm. I work for God; therefore, I do it with a cheerful attitude. “Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.” (Romans 12:11 NLT) When you work with all your heart, motivated by the love of Christ, your work will be transformed into an act of worship for God.”I got this from one of the devotionals that I was reading yesterday. Very inspiring. I need to read that and wanted to share.

Which activities make you lose track of time?
Scrolling on social media. That’s one of the biggest time consuming activity in my life.
The next one is reading. If I have a good book, then it’s very easy for me to get lost in the text.
Third is working out at the gym. I tend to forget the amount of reps or sets that I’m supposed to do.
