    MJ at MSG

So side note, the author of this blog is a huge New York fan. He is a supporter of all the New York professional sports teams, including the New York Knickerbockers. When he was growing up watching these games (or at least watching the summary about them on the news broadcast ex post facto), he hated when the Knicks would lose to the Bulls.

However, as he grew up, he recognized the brilliance and excellence that Michael Jordan espoused as a professional basketball player. It was and is still inspirational to this day. For that superseding reason, the author posts clips from MJ’s career to reaffirm to himself that MJ is the GOAT.

If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

I think the word I use in regular discourse is “uhhh”. It’s because I’m carrying a conversation on the fly.

  • Quote of the Day

If you want to be successful in life, you have to become good at failing and recovering quickly after failure. Drivers who lose control of their car and start spinning tend to look towards the wall which they fear hitting when they spin out. This literally causes them to steer right into what they are trying to avoid due to their misguided focus. Their action is driven by fear instead of instinct and skill. Instinct and skill come from prior preparation, planning, practice and repetition. Become ok with failing, learn from your mistakes and you will be able to quickly recover from setbacks and move forward. Whereas, unsuccessful people tend to focus on the failure and what was instead of what could be if they moved on trying a new approach.” ~ Coach Corey Wayne

  • YMCA

Did you ever hear about its history and the impact in has in our current world? I was listening to the Wallbuilders podcast from yesterday and that was the current topic.

    Here’s an excerpt:

“And so we started looking into the history of the YMCA and believe it or not, it was birthed out of a revival.

And so you have second grade awakening revival, Charles Finney. He was a 29-year-old attorney, Adams, New York. He is walking through the woods on his way to work, and he’s been wanting to seek the Lord.

And so he goes into the woods and prays, and he feels that the Lord touches hard. He goes back to his law office, says goodbye to his partner, closes the door, and he says he met Jesus face-to-face mentally. But he said that he was overcome.

He said he knelt down, prayed, felt waves of liquid love, and the next thing he knows, the door is open. He prayed all night, and it’s a deacon coming in his law office in the morning suing another deacon wanting to know how his case is coming along. And without hesitating, Charles Finney said, I’m sorry, I have a retainer from our Lord Jesus Christ, and I am pleading his case.

I can no longer plead yours. The guy goes out, stands in the middle.”

This is definitely worth a listen. I’m amazed at how one man’s decision can affect so many people worldwide in a positive fashion.

*PS, They tried to erase this achievement because he wouldn’t comply with vaccine mandate while he was playing Brooklyn. There’s a whole story behind that. But we’ll save that for another post.
