    What makes a teacher great?

A great teacher is one who thoroughly understands the material and can relate its importance to the student. I think back to one of my favorite teachers, Mr. Pitula. He was my freshman year Latin teacher. He was able to relay the material to me the student so well. Unfortunately I done remember the material as I have not been using Latin as much, but his lessons still resonate.

Have you ever had surgery? What for?

I’ve had surgery twice one for a different finger. The fingers have been on a different hand. The first time I broke my finger playing soccer, the second time I broke it doing Tough Mudder.

You don’t realize how important a body part is much less a finger until you lose the ability to use it. For both times the post-surgery recovery was 6 weeks. I was in a hard cast for the first 2 weeks and then a soft one for the rest of the recovery.

    What are your daily habits?

Organize my day and set my priorities. I make sure to pray and read a bit of my Bible before going to the gym for my daily workout. After, what I do depends on what needs to be accomplished for that day.

In the midst of daily living, I try to keep a bunch of streaks in the apps I have. One of which is the app through I’m making this post, Jetpack. The others are:

    • Headway
    • Books
    • Bible (and the Daily Refresh)
    • MyFitnessPal (and the Food Log)
    • DuoLingo (and the weekly Friends quest)
    • Codecademy
    • Spanish dictionary

Which food, when you eat it, instantly transports you to childhood?

    Lasagna

I remember my first impressions of lasagna. My dad would make his version, which was so good! And I would have the Stouffers dish. Those were the premier versions of this awesome dish.

All lasagnas that I have must be compared to those standards!

What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

I don’t like to promote myself, but I will say that it’s very easy to smile and laugh. I remember back in first grade, my friend Anthony used to say that all it took for me to laugh was “two fingers and a piece of cheese”. That in itself was a hilarious line that I just laughed heartily. And I was only 6 years old then.

    How do you practice self-care?

I had answered this question previously but I would like to amend my answer. I don’t necessarily explicitly call it “self-care”. Self-care is all the things that I do keep my sanity. I meditate, journal, and read especially my Bible. This all to for mental and spiritual self-care. For my body self-care is just practicing good hygiene: brushing my teeth, flossing, gargling, showering every day, etc.

Who is your favorite historical figure?

Outside of Jesus, let’s put down Donald Trump. A billionaire real estate mogul becomes president of the United States.

What countries do you want to visit?

Post Script: I know that these are continents. I will add specific countries soon.

What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?

I still use my Dopp kit that I got from the last decade for when I take a shower. It’s been pretty useful so far, and holds a ton of bathroom items.

    Describe your dream chocolate bar.

I feel like Willy Wonka. Basically it would have a creamy caramel filling with peanuts or peanut butter. Plus the coating would be white chocolate.

This would be the best chocolate bar ever!
