Tonight while I was putting away recyclables in paper bags from Trader Joe’s, a memory unlocked for me. Back when I was in elementary school, the students leased or bought textbooks for the entire year. I would always end up buying my textbooks and I had no issues with that.
To preserve them and keep those textbooks in good condition through out the school year, my mom had a way to do it. She would take old paper bags and turn them into book covers for me. It was so innovative to my elementary-school self.
I wish I remembered to cover more of my textbooks with her more. I wish I had kept more of those textbooks.
