I have a few favorites. One is from my childhood. It’s the Cheeseburger Macaroni flavor of Hamburger Helper. The others are lasagna (which is my favorite dish), and chicken marsala (very easy dish to prepare and great with a side).
What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?
Exercise and working out in the morning. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. And I can listen to my podcasts while doing so. The process jump starts my day.
There are two reasons for my name. My mom named me for a book of the Bible; my dad gave me the name for the saint of hopeless causes. Also, the name is Hebrew and means “blessed”.
Morning. Easily it’s the morning time. I usually workout and meditate to get my day started. I’m a very sluggish individual (especially when I don’t sleep enough). But I use the morning to set my day and get started. I feel like I get an advantage of the rest of the world by getting something accomplished before 8 a.m.
I got it from my dad who used to (and still does) run every morning for an hour and 45 minutes and then he does his breathing exercises. Growing up watching him inspired me to do be active in the morning.
I always thought of myself as a terrible writer. I always sought opportunities to evade writing. But as I’m get older, I find that writing helps me to unwind my thoughts. It gives me some mental clarity. Also it helps me practice my vocabulary, grammar and tone.
Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.
Part 1
My friend invited us to her beach house for a pool party. She’s had several pool parties this summer but I had not been able to attend. But I was able to go. It was so much fun.
Part 2:
IAM cooked a meal from Blue Apron. This was the first time I tried that service. The food was so good and fulfilling. The meal consisted of salmon, potatoes and green beans. She did a great job with the food prep.
I live in Manhattan. Where I live there’s a subway not too far away and a bus down the block from my home. For most parts of the island, there’s access to a subway that will transport you to most other places in the city within 90 minutes. (When I say that Im thinking of Jamaica, Queens or New Lots in Brooklyn.)
I don’t like the way the MTA is being run; however, the subway and bus systems are one of the best things of NYC. Hopefully it can be kept in tact in a better condition for the future generations.
I have respect for law enforcement. The people who are beholden to an oath (to honor the Constitution) and put their lives on the lines. This can be expanded not just police officers but to also first responders. They deserve the credit and honor as well.
