How important is spirituality in your life?

Very important. I try to seek God everyday and let Him influence my decisions. (I don’t always follow through like I should; I am not perfect.). But I think knowing Him is an essential part of who I am as a person.

    How do you practice self-care?

Self-care? I don’t really have a routine that emphasizes “self-care”. If I feel down, I meditate and read some Bible scriptures.

This is a question geared more so towards women than men. They are more in touch with their emotions and feelings.

How do you waste the most time every day?

I waste time the most by being on social media (or really my phone). Often I take a glance on my phone to check on my notifications. One thing leads to another and I get lost in social media. It takes up more time than I bargain.

To counteract this in the past, I fast from social media. However, I don’t do this as much as I need. Kudos to this prompt for bringing this to my attention.

    Describe your dream chocolate bar.

It would have to have a milk chocolate on the outside and crunchy peanuts on the inside. Lately, I have become partial to the chocolate Payday bars. They have recently become the No. 1 item in terms of candy.

What quality do you value most in a friend?

The one quality that I value is loyalty which I think derives from how trustworthy you are. I’m not looking for “blind” loyalty; I expect one to challenge me when I’m off-track. However, I want to know that I can confide in you without having to worry about whether the sensitive info will be leaked or not.

I’m a big believer in the old rhyme “Loose lips sink ships.”

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

I would like to answer this question by answering with prayer, meditation, or reading, but I’m not consistent enough. Although, those things do help me out during the day.

The one thing for me is working out early in the morning. The workout can be at home or in the gym. It does not matter. It can be a simple push-up workout or an intense program like Insanity. As long as I start it and complete it.

Working out early gives me a sense of accomplishment and provides me with motivation to continue with my day.

    What are you good at?

I’m good at listening to people. I need to learn how to monetize. That’s all for now.

  • The Daily Prompt – No. 55

    Do you have any collections?

Yes. I collect all my uniforms in all the sports leagues that I play in. Ever since college, I primarily played in a lot of basketball and soccer rec leagues. I am honored that I get to participate on those teams. It’s a momento for me.

But, alas, they become burdensome. They get so old and they fall out of the rotation. Eventually I just give them away, albeit reluctantly. One time, I donated almost all my soccer jerseys to goodwill, I had a significant state of remorse.

“Collections are the precursor to hoarding.”
